Squeeze
90 more jobs to go in BBC News by April next year, says the Guardian - and the climate for volunteers for redundancy looks very different from previous years. The bulk are to go in "Newsgathering" - reporters, correspondents and their producers. I suspect this will be delivered in some areas by "three into two" - i.e. some specialisms currently boast a radio, tv and online correspondent, and the multimedia squeeze will be applied.
