Platforms

I learned yesterday that the UK's toughest daily interview is going multimedia - again. They're fixing cameras to catch the ten past eight grilling on the Today programme on Radio 4, for re-use on the web. It's not the first time this has been tried - in the late 70s, they tried "radiovision" in Studio 3E at Broadcasting House to capture Redhead and Timpson at work, but the experiment was not extended to the public - the UK was only ready for test cards on tv at that hour.

There's still an issue about how interesting it might be to watch just Humphrys or Naughtie when their interviewee is in the "radio car" or another studio - or what you see when that rare thing, a reporter-led investigation, is strong enough to take the prime slot.
