Lou Carlozo, who used to write a feature for the Chicago Tribune called Recession Diaries, has now been laid off himself. So his feature now appears online as part of the Wallet Pop blog.
His first post looks at ways for journalists to get into the world of "not-for-profit" organisations; and quotes a Pew Center estimate that from 2001 to the end of 2009 more than a quarter of the USA's news journalists will have lost their jobs.
