A puzzling gap has emerged between the end of the interviews to find a new Head of Multimedia News at the BBC, and an announcement of the successor to Peter Horrocks. Candidates were grilled last week - but no formal news of the outcome is expected until the week starting April 2o.
There's a presumption that Director of Journalism Mark Byford wants to anoint the winner in person after the Easter break. But it can't be enjoyable for those waiting to hear - and there ought to be a way of getting on with this; Mr Horrocks moves to his new role at Bush tomorrow.
