Detailed designs for the London Olympics' Press and Broadcast Centres have been submitted by Allies & Morrison and RPS. The broadcast centre will provide 50,000sq m of studio space across two floors with a temporary gantry for technical equipment as well as a further 8,000sq m of office space at the front of the building.
The press centre plans include 29,000sq m of office space over four storeys which will be used by journalists and photographers during the games and can be adapted for single or multiple tenants after the event.

And, because they all get hungry (and thirsty) the scheme also inlcudes a 12,000sq m catering village, expected to serve 50,000 meals a day; a 200m-long high street connecting the two buildings with banks, travel agents and a post office and a separate room for press conferences. These (which seem rather useful) are currently to be dismantled after the fun...
