Building Design reports Studio Egret West has won the competition to masterplan a science park on the site of the BBC's former studios and offices in Birmingham, Pebble Mill. The practice, formed by Christophe Egret and David West, will probably involve some other archtects in detailed design of buildings within the site - but are due to unveil their thinking so far to Birmingham Council next month.
The Egret West website is an interesting collection of bouncing bubbles, containing projects as diverse as new uses for the Maze Prison site, remodelling Highbury Corner on the A1 in London, and Portakabin public consultation spaces in Ponders End.
