The New York Times reports that Atlantic Records is the first label to make more money from downloads than cds. I have to point out that its current roster is very different to the blues and soul I grew up with, produced by Jerry Wexler and Ahmet Ertegun, and featuring artistes like Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Solomon Burke, The Drifters, Percy Sledge, The (Detroit) Spinners and more.
Now we have rappers T.I. and Flo Rida, and a band called Death Cab For Cutie ..... I feel old.
