Throw a six

The BBC is advertising not one but four jobs as "Head of Product - Go To Market", in News, Sport, iPlayer and Children's - at £150k each.

"Go To Market" sounds like an instruction on a board game, but Google AI tells me "A GTM strategy refers to a plan a company uses to introduce a new product or service to the market for the first time".  Market".  Old fashioned analogue managers might have thought that was the main point of having "Heads of Product"....

A reminder of the BBC's Product superstructure: Storm Fagan, Chief Product Officer £330k; Jules Marshall, Director, Product Data (Salary undisclosed); Anna Murcar, Director Product & Systems £185k; Dan Peters, Director of Product Management - Platform (Salary undisclosed); Monica Turska, Director, Product and Design £190k; Jack Whyte, Director, Product Engineering and Data (Salary undisclosed); and Megan Williams, Director, Product Transformation (Salary undisclosed).

  1. You've heard of management de-layering? It's always accompanied by management re-layering.
