BBC News' digital guru Naja Nielsen is off - not as this blog tipped, back to work in her native Denmark, but to a new job as Media Director at SVT, the Swedish National Broadcaster. However, she's told friends she'll be able to do the job from Denmark; SVT's Malmo offices are 50 minutes by car from the Copenhagen district of Valby. She leaves in March.
Naja Nielsen, 56 (Norre Gymnasium, Copenhagen and the Danish School of Media and Journalism), has been with the BBC since 2019, and one wonders how many of her objectives she's achieved. "Winning the weekend" ? "TikTok" ? "In Depth" ? Live pages on the tribulations of Philip Schofield ? Conquering the USA in general ?
Hubby Claus will doubtless follow, from his current role with as London-based VP of podcasts and special projects at Ascential plc.
Naja has promised to learn Swedish; probably not as big a challenge as taking on English at 45.
