Sundown

Eamonn Holmes (St Malachy's College and Dublin College of Business Studies) is leaving Sky News Sunrise after eleven years. In 2013 he signed a contract that was due to run to 2018.  Most recent figures suggest 150,000 is the maximum reach per show - much less than any of the politicians who appear on it would guess. In 2005, Sunrise would rarely break beyond 100,000 viewers.

In recent weeks, presenters Lorna Dunkley, who was alongside Holmes when he started at Osterley, Andrew Wilson, Samantha Simmonds and Andrew Wilson have departed. The news operation is moving to new automated studios soon, with lower running costs but high heartache potential.
