Management news

Today's schedule for BBC World News suggests management are trying to maintain 30 minutes of news on the hour during a 24-hour walkout by members of the NUJ over rota changes.

The big, meaninglessly-branded shows called GMT, IMPACT and GLOBAL have been pulled - presumably presenters like Mishal Husain, Matthew Amroliwala and Yalda Hakim have indicated an unwillingness to cross picket lines. Ros Atkin's Outside Source is missing (though, bizarrely, it's still in the schedules for the domestic BBC News Channel).  And a range of half-hour documentary repeats have appeared.

BBC World News America, produced in Washington is still there - presumably there'll be no NUJ banners on M Street - and much of the overnight output comes from Singapore.
