Diesel do

The BBC still has two cars with full-time drivers, and they're both diesel (the cars).

Lord Hall's VW Phaeton, which is used by other members of the Executive Board when he doesn't need it, seems to be off the road - perhaps for an emissions test - and he's currently using a Ford Mondeo Diesel on loan.

The second car, which used to be a Lexus, has been swapped for a Peugeot Pe 508 Diesel. This is shared between Executives, other senior directors and BBC Trust Chairman Rona Fairhead.

The BBC would like me to say: "The vehicles are shared so they are a cost effective means of business to business travel."   Though, occasionally, the passengers  may say "Home, James" or some such.
