Clang, clang
A fire alarm took live broadcasting off the air on 5Live this morning at around 0930 - during Nicky Campbell's phone-in on 'making cycling safer'. All the staff left Quay House, MediaCityUK, Salford, for around five or six minutes - except your genial host, who was in a London studio.
The emergency tape clicked in, giving yet another outing to Richard Bacon's interview with Michael Palin - and, unless my ears deceive, another interview that was conducted "down the line".
Back on air at 0949 - but Nicky still safe in London
