Congratulations to Ashley Tabor, 34, founder and group chief executive of Global Radio, on his accession to the chair of the Radio Academy. He succeeds Bob Shennan, Controller of Radio 2 and 6Music.
To provide the balance between commercial and licence fee interests, Adrian Van Klaveren, Controller Radio 5Live, becomes deputy chairman. Let's hope he's not dragged away from Salford too often in the year ahead for board meetings in London. Ben Cooper joins the committee (Radio Today are a little previous in describing him as Radio 1 Controller - Andy "Dorian Gray" Parfitt still holds the title), as does Chris Burns (BBC Group Manager for Audio & Music) providing eyes and ears for Tim Davie.
