There's calls for Lord Patten to give up lots of things - the Conservative Party, directorships, etc - before assuming the role of BBC Chairman. But it will still be interesting to see the depth of his register of interests, and whether or not his wider interests resonate across the BBC.
We know about his love of fine wine, but will there be more call for travelogues about valleys in the south of France ? Or perhaps follow-ups to his two part Channel 4 documentary, In the Footsteps of Elizabeth David ?
Will there be a fifth series for Merlin, featuring daughter Alice as Ygraine Pendragon ? What future for daughter Kate, last heard of producing a series called "Rock Shrines" for BBC3 ?
