BBC News Global Director Jonathan Munro has created a new department. The Strategic Planning and Delivery (SPD) function has started recruiting, and is looking for a local hire Senior Manager based in Washington for its Americas wing.
"The team will ensure highest quality strategic decision making, developing robust frameworks for assessing performance against targets, and on time delivery of strategic goals. This team is at the heart of driving the Global director’s growth agenda, working closely with Regional Directors and digital leaders in the organization."
Among your tasks: "Define and deliver a benefits-led prioritisation approach incorporating the potential need for iterative re-planning and cost-effective benefits measurement processes."
I think this is the first sighting of 'seniormost' in a BBC job ad: you will bring "experience of enabling high level strategic decision making at speed, working with seniormost/ ExCo level stakeholders".
When John Birt instigated Producer Choice, one newspaper described it as "playing shops for John Birt ". We now need a similar term for what the Beeb & BBC Studios is doing in the US & UK - hiring a lot of empty new suits.
