As far as independent journalism, the BBC uses CBS News "influencers" from America to report on what's happening in the US and they are the left of the leftist.

The BBC seems blissfully ignorant of how little they have to sell and how vast the competition is.

Throwing up paywalls only hurts people and keeps them in the dark. And news media and journalists wonder why people buy into disinformation? Because it’s free.

First they ruin the BBC News app, and now they start charging us? Doesn't sound like a great plan. For less than $8.99/month, I get the NYT and the WSJ. Or CNN Premium and USA Today. It sure doesn't sound like they have thought about their value proposition.
