Open

It still takes some getting used to. The nominations for the Arias (the old Sony Radio Awards) came out this week, and in a world where anyone can podcast, those nominations stretch far and wide.

You can, apparently, be best presenter with a podcast just as much as a networked radio show. The only categories not peppered with podcasts are Best Breakfast Shows, Best Sonic Branding, Local Radio Station of the Year and UK Radio Station of the Year.

And, as BBC Online continues to move its tanks onto newspaper territory, there's a certain schadenfreude in seeing The Guardian, The Telegraph, and The Mail nominated as audio production houses in awards once 'owned' by Auntie.
