Anna's in

Congratulations to Anna Foster, joining the core quintet of presenters on Today, Radio 4, from April. 

Anna, 45 (South Tyneside College, BA English Lit, Durham) gives cover in the North, with her homebase in a village outside Halifax. Nick Robinson favours awaydays in Ipswich; he has a cottage close to the Suffolk Coast; Justin Webb and Amol Rajan favour the West Country. Emma Barnett has yet to show her hand - maybe it'll be a venue associated with her colouring books. 

Husband John is the stadium announcer for Middlesbrough FC home games at the Riverside. 

Anna's first on-air experience was with Purple Radio, at Durham, and then she took the Broadcast Journalism post grad course at City University, alongside one Chris Mason. There's another Anna Foster broadcasting in the North-East, who worked with John in his days on commercial radio; she was John's 'best man' at Anna's wedding in 2009.
