House ads

The details of who's been advertising on GB News in March may raise eyebrows. According to Prolific North, the biggest advertiser by number of ads was Sky, with 512 spots. We don't know what rate they paid - but Sky Media is GB News' ad sales partner, and perhaps gave itself a good deal.

In second place over the four weeks to March 27th was the Crown Commercial Service, with 471 government ads placed by their contractor OminGOV. Four government campaigns were running on the channel in March – for cardiovascular disease, childcare careers, an NHS cancer campaign, and an anti-smoking drive, clearly apposite for a channel built around Nigel Farage.

In third place came GB News itself, with 421 spots.

  1. How does the number of crown ads on GB News compare to ads it runs on other outlets?

  2. Tricky. Monthly Gov spend on tv ads is around £20m a month; GB News thought to have landed £130k of that in March !
