Media mavens

Is it better to be a thinker or a do-er ?  In the HR world, the BBC's Valerie Hughes D'Aeth is closer to implementation of a new pay and reward structure than anyone this century.

Her predecessor Lucy Adams nudged without success at BBC DG Mark Thompson's door with a package of reforms called myPay, and has since decided she was wrong about appraisals, all-staff emails, annual bonuses, traditional succession planning, etc, etc, etc. She now works as a consultant and author, and must judge her impact in terms of quality of conferences and book sales.

It's entertaining, then, to learn that Lucy's handbook, "HR Disrupted", is being promoted by Transform Communications of Holt (based in The Old Tannery), and, with sales still brisk, their PR specialists are offering Lucy as an ideal guest to a range of BBC programmes. so far without success.
