How are our modern media Masters doing at Cambridge University ?  The latest Tompkins league table, compiled from degree results, is a bit of a mixed bag.

The big winner is Lucy Cavendish College, led by Jackie Ashley, who's also Mrs Andrew Marr.  The college increased its total of 1st class degrees by 14.5%, rising eight positions in the table to stand at 18 - the highest ranking ever achieved by a college for mature students.

Former Culture Secretary Chris Smith saw Pembroke fall two places, to fourth. Former BBC Olympics wunderkind Roger Mosey's Selwyn climbed six places, to ninth. At Peterhouse, Bridget Kendall presided over a drop of two places, to tenth. Emmanuel, where Fiona Reynolds, a former BBC non-exec, dropped two places, to sixth.
