Google's latest intervention in media delivery is YouTubeTV, a subscription streaming and on-demand service offered at $35 a month, at this stage only available in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
This is clearly a 'cord-cutting' threat to traditional US cable tv offerings, so it's probably a good thing that AMC Networks has been signed to be part of the basic package - AMC is, of course, joint owners with BBC Worldwide of BBC America, home of Star Trek: Next Generation (on today from midday to midnight) and some weekend output made by the BBC.
