Hairy

BBC Director of Radio and Education James Purnell made a modest contribution to our national cultural debate this week, with a 28-minute lecture entitled The Future of Broadcasting. It was delivered at The Speaker's House, where the staff were increasingly anxious that James hadn't arrived at the allotted time; he had, but they didn't recognised him with the new, extended beard.

Indeed, the ensemble, with new bins as well, befits the gravitas sought by one of the country's leading thinkers. And all available on iPlayer. As is the house style at BBC Parliament, the caption stays on throughout. Just as well, in case you thought you were tuning in to another repeat of The Good Old Days.
