Sam's the man

Congratulations to the newly-appointed Head of the BBC Arabic Service, Samir 'Sam' Farah. Born and raised in Lebanon, he's been in front of the camera and behind the mike for 18 years as presenter of the multi-media chat shop Talking Point - Nuqtat Hewar.

Lawd knows what grade he is - it won't reflect the fact that his operation has a weekly audience of 38m.

Sam is a big fan of Formula 1 and Moto-GP.
