Rising agent

The wonder of the Stock Market. Shares in Johnston Press started yesterday at 9.25p. At 10.08am Chief Executive Ashley Highfield pointed his 5,000 odd Twitter followers to a report from investment bankers Liberum suggesting shares might rise more than 17 times that price.

And, lo, at close of play, shares had risen to 15p each.  JP had to issue a notice just after 4pm:"The Board of Directors of Johnston Press plc notes the rise in the Company's share price today and confirms that it knows of no operational or corporate reason for the price movement." Just after this morning's opening there was another rise, to 16.2p.

Is there a stalker looking for a takeover ?
