As we head towards Lord Hall's announcement about roles and responsbilities at the top of the BBC, a reminder of key points from the BBC's publicly available recruitment policy. Principle number 1 ?
Vacancies should be filled via a competitive selection process, using fair
and robust job-related criteria.
All continuing vacancies, plus vacancies of three months or more, should be
advertised internally across the BBC.
A vacancy may be advertised to a restricted distribution in areas which are
undergoing a restructuring process or an internal reorganisation in which headcount
increases are prohibited.
