BBC hacks in the Business & Economics toddlers' pool will no doubt be delighted to see another widening of their gene pool; the appointment of Helen Thomas (1st Class PPE Oxford University, most recently with the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal) as Business Editor of Newsnight. What she doesn't know about Glencore and Bumi PLC isn't, probably, worth broadcasting.
