Big stuff

The Horse of The Year show met the Edinburgh Tattoo at the Windsor Outdoor Palladium last night, in a show that might have been made in 1960. I have a side-bet it was produced by a Major. An average of 6m people watched, including those who had time to avoid it on  +1.

The next big stadium event is the BBC's ill-advised Monster Cage-Wrestling Euro Debate on 21 June, conceived by Robbie Gibb out of the Sports Personality of the Year Show and Top Gear Live. An audience of 4,000 will bray and snarl pointlessly. The whole has presumably been sanctioned by BBC News Boss James Harding, and he will regret it. There can be no winners.
