Newsnight, once dubbed (here) the world's most expensive tv current affairs programme in terms of cost per viewer minute, is now getting an 11.15pm re-run on the BBC News Channel, which may reduce that figure marginally. Conspiracy theorists are now looking back to September, when Ian Katz started keeping the show's timings to 45 minutes, instead of the previous regime of free-flowing overruns.
