Fluctations

The employee churn rate at the BBC in the last calendar year was almost 16% - not excessive, considering the organisation is supposed to be in the middle of both downsizing and restructuring.

According to a response to a Freedom of Information enquiry, the BBC's headcount was 19,664 on December 31 2015. 3,143 employees left over the year; 54% were women.

The ever-volatile BBC News headcount, last reported in October as 7,006, moves to 7,355 in this response. Could HR ask you all to stand still when they do the next count ?
