Academic calling

A new direction for former BBC Deputy Director General, Mark Byford, in the New Year. He'll be delivering the keynote address at the Student Education Conference and Digital Festival, at Leeds University, on January 7th.

It looks like the Leeds alumnus is trying to apply some of the RQIV (Reach, Quality, Impact, Value) metrics he championed at the BBC to higher education.

"Mark will open the session by considering quality and distinctiveness, examining the metrics we use to measure our impact and assess how effectively we are currently utilising the data we generate. Questions will be invited from delegates."
