Charter chunter 7

At last, a piece of speculation to raise a wry smile from the wry smile expert, James Purnell, currently sequestered in the BBC's Charter Bunker. It comes from Christopher Williams, Technology, Media and Telecoms Editor for the business sections of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph. (I imagine TMTE, BS, DT & ST is embroidered on a Cash label on all his sports gear).

His Government sources say the Chancellor is considering making C4 sell its headquarters in Horseferry Road, with the proceeds going to the Exchequer. The non-profit organisation would then move, potentially to Birmingham, to help boost the media industry outside the capital, which is a key element of Channel 4’s public service remit.
