Curious

Difficult times for investigative journalism at the BBC. The Guardian has suggested Panorama might leave the warmth of Auntie's licence-fee heated bosom for the commercial pressures of BBC NewCo (turn left at 1984, and you'll find it near A Clockwork Orange).

Now I gather that Radio 4's Face the Facts is Facing the Axe. The less-racy child of Checkpoint, hosted by Roger Cook from 1971 to 1984, Face the Facts has been presented by John Waite since 1986.  The most recent edition was broadcast in August, and there's no sign of it in forthcoming schedules.
