Proper jobs

Here's a story from the BBC staff newsteam on Ariel that might need some clarification. The BBC is looking to its own employees for 500 volunteers to help with Olympic coverage. It says there are vacancies as "BBC Ambassador, receptionist or guest greeter, runner, or tape logger". There's a warning that staff should only step forward after they've spoken to their line manager - and that they should volunteer in their own locality, as there'll be no expenses.

Let's hope the BBC clarifies that there will be wages.
