Naughty step

The minutes of the first session of the BBC Trust meeting under Lord Patten contain a rap over the knuckles for Andy Parfitt, Controller Radio 1.

Andy had submitted a report back on progress towards focussing the network more at its target audience of 15-19 year olds, as required by the Trust in 2009, and was proud of increased reach there.  But the Trust noted growth "outside the target age range".  Starkly, the minute goes on "The committee would hold further discussions with the Executive on this matter."
