D'you remember, this was the sort of thing the tabloids (and quite a few people at the BBC) said 5 Live would, or even should, put out, when it was proposed back in nineteen ninety blah. In a word, tabloid. Instead for about the next 15 years, Britain got a rather decent rolling-news-with-sporty-bits radio station. Maybe, inside the BBC, a bad idea is a bad idea forever, too.
