Can Sebastian Scott make a tv hit from the team assembled by News UK for their first regular on-line show ?
Mr Scott began as a tv researcher with That's Life, and moved on to a relaunch of The Word, before starting The Big Breakfast. He co-created a very successful indie, Princess Productions, later sold to Endemol Shine. Princess' product including C5's The Wright Stuff and weekend pop magazine T4.
His presenter is former Sun entertainment hack, Gordon Smart, backed by producer Winnie Nelson, who has worked with Piers Morgan at both CNN and GMB ("She's a rock star editor, producer, fixer and miracle worker.") She brings with her another GMB producer, Caitlin Black. Also on board, Charlotte Seligman from OK! Magazine and This Morning. She brings her OK! digital right-hand, JJ Anisiobi.
How with it work with other News UK outlets - is the prime linkage with The Sun ?
Anyone remember a previous print/broadcast effort called OK!TV, which ran early evening weekdays on C5 for 10 months in 2011 ? The Guardian described it as "a remedial level One Show" and "colossally vapid". Maybe its time has come.
