Money

The BBC seems to have coughed up quite a lot to secure union backing for new terms and conditions of service.

After nearly 21 months of negotiations, and 22 hours at ACAS, staff are being promised that the minimum salary will rise from the current £15,687 to £20k over time - and there's a retrospective pay offer of 2% for 2017/18, 2% for 2018/19 and 2.5% for 2019/20. The BBC has promised better parental leave, and, as a small hostage to fortune, talks about ‘how how weekend working, which can be disruptive, should be recognised’

There's a vote on May 21.  No word yet from the NUJ on whether or not they're recommending the deal, as compensation for having this 'crock of shit forced down their throats'.
