Those who thought Ashley Highfield might struggle with the ambition of being a 'plural non-executive' after his exit as CEO from debt-laden Johnston Press, have been partially proved wrong. Ashley is now non-executive director of Oyster Yachts.
The luxury bespoke boat builder has been bought out of administration by online gaming millionaire Richard (Ashley) Hadida. He's a helicopter pilot, racehorse owner and yachtsman (owner of a £5m Oyster 885 for four years) who earlier this year outbid all to buy a fragment of Nelson's Union Jack from HMS Victory for £297k.
Ashley is currently tweeting from a Google Zeitgeist conference. Google "Ashley Highfield yachting", and nothing much shows up.
