So the first ever two-part Generation Game series finished with an overnight audience of 3.37m - a 16.7% share. Some two million people watching Countryfile found the remote control and went elsewhere at 8pm, a good number to The Durrells, back over 4m on ITV.
It's not been a good run for BBC Entertainment commissions - on Saturday, travelling game show Ready or Not was down to 1.29m (8.7%) and cartoon gag filler Doodlebugs dropped to 852k (6.2%).
ITV is not without turkeys in this field; Sunday's edition of tone-deaf singing show Change Your Tune was down to 1.66m (9.1%) at 7pm, and from next week moves to the key 4pm slot....
