Ouch

If you think Arsenal had a bad Tuesday, spare a thought for Kevin Lygo at ITV.

His Tuesday night prime-time line-up, second outing, had a mare. Reality cookery show The Secret Chef, at 8pm, was watched by 1.55m, up a marginal 40k on last week. But Play to the Whistle dropped to 1.57m, from last week's 1.98m. And so host John Bishop can feel moderately pleased with a limited switch-off when it came to 10pm and the Nightly Show - he retained 1.53m, compared with David Walliams' 1.36m in the same slot last week.

The ITV News at Ten Thirty was left with 990k.

  • Celeb-obsessed BBC News sent Huw's Number 2, Fiona Bruce to interview Amal Clooney about Yazidis, ISIS and genocide. Clearly a difficult interviewee, doubly-dangerous because of her marriage to George Clooney, and not to be assigned to a mere hack or world affairs specialist...
