Perhaps it was a case of the journalistic community coming together to rise up against the depredations of ITV's Kevin Lygo. Tom Bradby, currently main host of the ITV News at Ten-Thirty, has won Television Presenter of the Year at the Royal Television Sociey's Journalism Awards 2017.
And the judges did it again. The BBC News channel, saved from merger or closure at the hands of James Harding by Lord Hall back in July, won News Channel of the Year.
