As we drift to August, it's time for those of us stuck in blighty to endure the summer schedule of presenters. Today on Radio 4 seems to have got through July without straying beyond its core team, but I suspect the next four weeks will be different. On the World Tonight, Friday saw a presenter appearance from Royal Correspondent Peter Hunt. On the telly, Tina Daheley has been getting a run-out on BBC Breakfast.  The One Show has given living auditions to Brenda Emmanus and Angela Scanlon.

Last night, Channel 4 News featured Andy Coulson as a reporter. Ed Miliband had a try-out as a consumer affairs correspondent for the Victoria Derbyshire show earlier in the year.

I confidently predict John Whittingdale will get a metal show on 6Music sometime soon...
