Squeezebox

No hint of an accordion in Samuel Sim's music for the latest version of Maigret on ITV last night. Here's the composer's pulsing theme, with an unnamed singer voicing pretty indistinct French halfway through.




This latest ITV version returned to Budapest to double for Paris - as did Granada for 12 episodes in 1992 and 1993, featuring Michael Gambon. Their theme, composed by Nigel Hess DID feature an accordion.



And here's Ron Grainer's theme (starting at 1.08) from the 1960s Rupert Davies version, which ran to 51 episodes. Studio bound, with a few exterior shots in Paris...
