Whine

As an occasional monitor of professional diarists, I have to say that The Times is a little late on the case with the 'revelation' that Jeremy Clarkson's favourite tipple is rosé wine.

He has a specific preference, which appeared on dressing room riders for Top Gear Live - the Provence wines of Chateau Léoube, produced on an estate in Bormes-Les-Mimosas. He is pictured, left, with a bottle of their 'Secret de Léoube' (Grenache 40%, Cinsault 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%). The vineyard is owned by Daylesford Organic. Daylesford, in turn, is owned by Carole Bamford, supported by her husband, Baron Bamford, the JCB chairman and vintage Ferrari owner.

JCBs have featured in Top Gear over the years, and Jeremy has written in praise of them in The Sun, when edited by CN neighbour Rebekah Brooks. All part of the Chipping Norton set.
