A look at the five Tories who've put themselves forward to next week's vote for the Chair of the Commons Culture Media & Sport Select Committee - and an additional £14,876 p.a.

Jason McCartney, 47, MP for Colne Valley since 2010 (Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Officer & Professional Trainer at Royal Air Force College, Cranwell, then Post Grad Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at Leeds Trinity & All Saints)

He had short spells as a BBC local radio reporter in Leeds and Middlesbrough, before joining ITV's Calendar team as a weekend presenter. Then it was back to Leeds Trinity as a lecturer.

He is a Huddersfield Town season ticket holder who also finds time to support Huddersfield Giants. As a "Proud Dad & Yorkshireman" he promises to bring plain speaking to the role, like, er, this....
