Media luvvies in the election Part 3

Julian Knight, now Tory MP for Solihull, worked on business and personal finance news in the BBC and for The Independent, and has written seven books in the "Dummies" series, including "Cricket for Dummies".

Polly Billington, who reported for Newsbeat, Today, News 24 and the Politics Show, missed out for Labour at Thurrock, losing by 436 votes to the Tories.

Matthew Maxwell Scott, who contested Carshalton & Wallington for the Conservatives, says he's been employed as a speechwriter to the Director General since September last year.  The Libdems held on, with a majority of 1,500.

Victoria Groulef, who has been a BBC researcher and producer, and run a lingerie company (with ethical production ambitions) failed to make a dent on the Tories in Reading West.
