Travel news

The BBC last week handed back its World Service shortwave transmitter site on the Seychelles to the islands' government. In operation since 1988 broadcasting to east Africa, The Indian Ocean Relay Station was powered down in March this year.

As more than one wag has noted, deuced lucky that a senior BBC manager was in the area at the time of the handover.
